The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has lauded the recent appointments of former Deputy Governor Rauf Olaniyan and former Minister of Communications Adebayo Shittu to positions on the Governing Councils of federal tertiary institutions.
Olaniyan was inaugurated as the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo, while Shittu was sworn in as the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Medical Science, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
Alongside them, Mubo Adelabu was appointed as the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, Oyo State, among other distinguished Oyo APC members.
In a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, the Oyo APC expressed confidence in the capabilities of the appointees, staed their proven competence, character, and loyalty. The party noted that these appointments are a testament to President Tinubu’s commitment to including Oyo State in his administration’s agenda.
“We are indeed happy that the new appointees are among the people whose competence, character, and loyalty we can vouch for, given their individual antecedents and contributions to the victory of President Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2023 general election,” Sadare stated.
The Oyo APC also urged party faithful to remain patient and cooperative, assuring them that President Tinubu is committed to fulfilling his promises and addressing Nigeria’s challenges. The party called on the President to consider further appointments from Oyo APC members who played crucial roles in the election but are yet to be compensated.
With these strategic appointments, the Oyo APC looks forward to a stronger, more united party, ready to achieve greater success in the 2027 general election.
