Nollywood actress Omowunmi Dada has shared her intense preparation for her role in the 2019 film ‘Oloture’.
The movie tells the story of a journalist who goes undercover as a prostitute to expose human trafficking in Lagos.
To accurately portray her character as a sex worker, Dada visited a brothel daily for two weeks, interacting with prostitutes and learning about their daily lives. She also had to learn how to smoke, which proved to be a challenging task.
Dada recalled her experience on set, saying, “I smoked from day one. In fact, on my day one on set, I smoked 14 sticks of cigarettes. By the time I got to my hotel, I was throwing up.”
Dada’s dedication to her craft and her willingness to take on challenging roles have earned her recognition in the Nollywood industry.
