Nigerian Teen Shines As World’s Best In TeenEagle Global English Language Competition.

Seventeen-year-old Nafisa Abdullah Aminu from Yobe State, Nigeria, has achieved a remarkable feat by being named the top performer in English language skills at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals in London, United Kingdom. Representing Nigeria through the Nigerian Tulip International College, Yobe, Nafisa outshone competitors from 69 countries, surpassing 20,000 participants in the prestigious competition.

 

The TeenEagle Global Finals, accredited by Brooke House College, test students aged 8 to 18 on various aspects of English proficiency, including persuasive speaking, writing, spelling, and knowledge quizzes. Nafisa, competing in the TeenEagle 3 category for 15- to 17-year-olds, demonstrated exceptional mastery, defeating participants from native English-speaking nations and securing the title of world’s best in English language skills. Her victory has been hailed as a testament to her dedication and the quality of education provided by her school.

 

Malam Hassan Salihu, a family member, expressed immense pride, stating that Nafisa’s success has brought honour to her family, Yobe State, and Nigeria as a whole. He credited the achievement to the support of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration, which has prioritised educational development in the state. “Our daughter’s global success wouldn’t have been possible without the extraordinary support for education in Yobe,” Salihu noted.

 

The Nigerian Tulip International College also received praise for its role in nurturing Nafisa’s talent. The school’s management and teachers were commended for their commitment to fostering academic excellence. Nigerians on social media platforms celebrated the victory, with one user declaring, “We have the best brains here; we dominate anytime we compete.”

 

Nafisa’s triumph highlights the potential of Nigerian youth on the global stage and underscores the impact of investment in education. As celebrations continue, her achievement serves as an inspiration for young learners across the country.
