Manchester City Looking The Way Of Wolves Midfielder Nunes

City are on the watch for an opportunity or indication for purchasing Matheus Nunes from Wolverhampton Wanderers before the closure of the summer transfer window.
The club was previously looking to secure the services of Lucas Paqueta from West Ham United but were discouraged by an ongoing investigation by the Football Association (FA) relating to potential betting breaches.

City have also been touting Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze for the past six months and he has also now been shortlisted by the club as a possible alternative along with Nunes.

Crystal Palace are believed to demand nothing less than £70 million to see their prized asset cross over to the blue side of Manchester with the player having two years left on his current deal at the club.

City are struggling with squad depth in the middle of the park after losing Kevin De Bruyne to a hamstring injury billed to keep him out for four to five months. Having also lost veteran Ilkay Gundogan to Barcelona, and bringing in only Mateo Kovacic in midfield.

Wolves’ current financial woes could make them open to bids for Nunes. However, it remains to be seen if City submit a bid high enough to convince the Wanderers to part with a prized asset.
