Lookman Pays Courtesy Visit To President Tinubu, Presents CAF Award.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles star and 2024 CAF African Footballer of the Year, Ademola Lookman, paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at his residence in Lagos. During the meeting, Lookman proudly presented his prestigious award to the President, marking a moment of national pride and celebration.
Lookman’s award-winning performances included a historic hat-trick in the 2024 UEFA Europa League final, securing Atalanta’s first-ever European trophy. He also scored crucial goals during Nigeria’s run to the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations final in Côte d’Ivoire. The 27-year-old forward’s impressive 2024/25 season saw him score 20 goals in all competitions, helping Atalanta finish third in Serie A.
The visit was attended by a delegation that included Mallam Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission, and Lookman’s father. The images shared by the Presidency Nigeria on social media captured the warm moment between Lookman and President Tinubu, who was dressed in traditional attire.
The visit comes as Lookman is notably absent from the Super Eagles squad for the ongoing Unity Cup, meaning he will miss the final against Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz scheduled for May 31, 2025. Despite this, Lookman’s achievement serves as an inspiration to young athletes across Nigeria, showcasing the country’s rich talent and potential in football.
