Lagos Government Plans Additional Pedestrian Bridges In Oshodi

Lagos Government Plans Additional Pedestrian Bridges In Oshodi.

The Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Water Resources has acknowledged the need for additional pedestrian bridges in Oshodi to improve pedestrian movement and safety.

This follows complaints from residents about difficulties using the only available bridge in the area. The situation worsened after one of the bridges connecting Oshodi Bus Terminals 2 and 3 was locked due to structural concerns, increasing pressure on the remaining bridge.

Responding to the concerns, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, confirmed that the relevant authorities had been informed about the necessity of constructing additional bridges.

“We are aware of the challenges faced by pedestrians while using the bridge. The relevant authorities have been notified of the need for more pedestrian bridges in the area,” Wahab stated.

He also commended residents for adhering to the “No Crossing of Highway” law in Lagos State and urged them to continue following the regulations for their safety.

The state government has assured commuters that efforts are underway to enhance pedestrian access and ease movement in Oshodi, reinforcing its commitment to infrastructure development and public safety.
