Kaduna Police Arrest 27 Suspected Criminals In Coordinated Raids.

The Kaduna State Police Command has apprehended 27 suspected criminals following a series of coordinated raids in the Kawo area of Kaduna metropolis. The operation, conducted on 8 June 2025, targeted criminal hideouts and resulted in the recovery of dangerous weapons and illicit drugs, bolstering efforts to maintain peace across the state.

The joint tactical operation, launched at approximately 8:30 pm, involved collaboration between the police, military, Department of State Services (DSS), Kaduna State Geographic Information Service (KADGIS), and local vigilante groups. According to the command’s spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, the raids were carried out in line with the directive of Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, to identify, flush out, and dismantle criminal elements threatening public safety in designated hotspots.

During the operation, law enforcement agents swept through the nooks and crannies of Kawo and surrounding neighbourhoods, seizing a cache of weapons, including knives, axes, and cutlasses, alongside large quantities of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and other hard drugs. The 27 suspects are currently under investigation and will face charges upon completion of inquiries, police confirmed.

Commissioner Muhammad reiterated the command’s unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order, emphasising that Kaduna remains a peaceful state. “We will not allow miscreants or criminally-minded individuals to destabilise the peace of our communities,” he declared, issuing a stern warning to anyone with intentions to cause violence or disrupt public order to desist or leave the state. “The police will continue to clamp down on miscreants and give them no breathing space within Kaduna,” he added.

The operation comes amid heightened security concerns in the Kawo area, with authorities acting swiftly to restore confidence and ensure safety. The Commissioner praised the cooperation between security agencies and urged residents to remain law-abiding and provide credible information to support ongoing efforts.

This successful raid marks a significant step in the Kaduna State Police Command’s mission to rid the region of crime, sending a clear message that criminal activities will not be tolerated.
