Jigawa Police To Commence Shooting Range Exercise For New Constables.
The Jigawa State Police Command has announced plans to conduct a shooting range exercise for newly recruited constables, aimed at enhancing their operational efficiency and preparedness.
According to a statement released in Dutse on Friday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Lawan Shiisu, the training will take place from 19th April to 11th May in Tsohon Kafi village, located in the Birnin Kudu Local Government Area.
SP Shiisu explained that the exercise is designed to improve the recruits’ weapon handling skills, marksmanship, and overall operational readiness. He emphasised that the activity is part of the Nigeria Police Force’s broader efforts to promote professionalism, uphold high operational standards, and strengthen public safety.
He urged residents in and around the training area not to be alarmed by the sound of gunfire during the training sessions, assuring that all procedures would be conducted safely and under strict supervision.
“This exercise is part of our commitment to ensuring that our new officers are well-trained and capable of handling their duties effectively,” Shiisu stated. “We appeal to residents not to panic, as every precaution has been taken to ensure the safety of both participants and the public.”
The spokesman also expressed the Command’s appreciation to the people of Jigawa for their continuous support and cooperation in maintaining peace and order throughout the state.
