INEC Unveils Six Digital Tools To Enhance Election Transparency And Efficiency.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has launched six innovative digital tools designed to improve the transparency and efficiency of elections in Nigeria. The commission introduced the new applications during a one-day retreat in Lagos State.

 

INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu stated that the tools are part of the commission’s broader strategy to leverage technology in managing and conducting credible elections. The digital tools aim to transform key aspects of the electoral process, from voter registration to the collation of results.

 

The six digital tools unveiled by INEC include:

 

1. Collation and Returning Officers Management System (CROMS)

2. Election Results Management System (ERMS)

3. Virtual Election Training System (VETS)

4. Political Party Financial Reporting System (PFRAS)

5. Election Monitoring and Support Center (EMSC Dashboard)

6. Electoral Facility Locator (EFLOC)

 

These systems are expected to bolster election integrity, promote accountability, and modernize how elections are managed in Nigeria. According to Yakubu, the tools reflect INEC’s commitment to leveraging technology for transparent and efficient elections.

 

The introduction of these digital tools marks a significant step towards enhancing the electoral process in Nigeria, and INEC’s efforts to ensure credible and transparent elections.
