Nollywood icon Bimbo Akintola has shared an intimate look into her personal life, revealing she is single and childless at 52. In a recent interview with Pulse Nigeria, the actress, born on 5 May 1973, spoke with refreshing honesty about her journey, addressing questions about her family and marital status.

When asked about having children, Akintola said, “No, I don’t, unfortunately.” On her single status, she added, “Not chosen, mind you,” clarifying that her path was not entirely by choice. Her openness has struck a chord with fans, shedding light on the personal challenges faced by one of Nigeria’s most admired actresses.

 

A Theatre Arts graduate from the University of Ibadan, Akintola rose to fame with her debut in the 1995 film *Owo Blow*. Her role in *Out of Bounds* (1997) alongside Richard Mofe-Damijo solidified her place in Nollywood. Recently, she shone as Inspector Mo Ogunlesi in Kemi Adetiba’s *To Kill a Monkey*. Her stellar career includes a Best Actress nomination at the 2013 Nollywood Movies Awards and a win for *Heaven’s Hell* at the 2015 Eko International Film Festival.
