IGP Redeploys 40 Senior Police Officers Across Nigeria

The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered the posting and redeployment of 40 senior police officers to various commands and formations nationwide.

The affected officers include 14 Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and 26 Commissioners of Police (CPs). The police spokesman Muyiwa Adejobi said the reshuffle reflects the elevation of the officers to their new ranks.

Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, listed the AIGs as follows:

The AIGs were deployed to police zone commands, border patrol, investigation units, and other strategic formations.

Similarly, the CPs were posted to state commands in Benue, Jigawa, Niger, Gombe, Imo, Rivers, and others. Some will head border patrol, safer highways, anticorruption, technology units, and colleges.

IGP Baba charged the redeployed officers to align with the police vision and support government’s economic agenda.

The police chief said the postings take immediate effect as part of strategies to reposition the force for optimal service delivery.
