Flutterwave, Africa’s foremost payments technology company, has announced the launch of the Flutterwave Accelerate Workshop, a two-day virtual coaching programme aimed at equipping young Africans with the practical skills needed to thrive in the tech industry.
Targeted at university students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals, the initiative will offer participants valuable insights into four high-demand career paths: Data Privacy and Cybersecurity, Design, Marketing, and Product Management.
The sessions, scheduled for 26th April and 3rd May 2025 , will be led by a team of accomplished tech professionals. These include Ted Oladele, CEO of Mira and former Vice President of Design & Product at Flutterwave; Noel Ozoemena, Senior Manager of Branding and Storytelling; Nujinim Egwegbete-Odukwu, Head of Infrastructure Security; Abisola Epoyun, Data Privacy Manager; and Oluwatobiloba Animashaun, Product Manager at Flutterwave.
Speaking on the importance of the programme, Yewande Akomolafe-Kalu, AVP, Branding & Storytelling at Flutterwave, said:
“At Flutterwave, we are passionate about unlocking Africa’s full potential by investing in the next generation of innovators and builders. The Accelerate Workshop serves as both a knowledge hub and a springboard for ambitious young Africans poised to transform the continent’s technological landscape. We’re giving them the tools, access, and confidence to step boldly into the digital economy.”
In addition to technical training, the programme will also focus on essential soft skills and provide a realistic view of what it’s like to work in Africa’s fast-paced tech startup ecosystem. Topics will range from understanding user behaviour and product development to navigating data privacy regulations and storytelling for business impact.
The initiative reflects Flutterwave’s commitment to fostering innovation by empowering Africa’s youth—a demographic the company sees as the continent’s greatest asset. Through talent development programmes like Accelerate, Flutterwave continues to invest in creating pathways for young Africans to contribute meaningfully to the digital future.
Registration for the Accelerate Workshop is now open, with sessions to be held virtually. Check Flutterwave website for details.
