Tottenham Thrash Manchester United In Dominant Display At Old Trafford.

Tottenham Hotspur delivered one of the standout performances of Ange Postecoglou’s reign so far, cruising to an emphatic 3-0 victory over a struggling Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday. Spurs took control of the match from the outset, with Brennan Johnson opening the scoring in just the third minute, notching his fourth goal in as many games. His strike came after a brilliant run and assist from Micky van de Ven.

The Welsh forward continued to threaten, hitting the post as Tottenham piled on the pressure. Manchester United, who struggled to get a foothold in the match, saw their hopes of a comeback diminish when Alejandro Garnacho also hit the woodwork. The situation worsened for United as captain Bruno Fernandes was sent off for a reckless challenge on James Maddison, leaving his side down to 10 men. Adding to their woes, youngster Kobbie Mainoo was forced to head straight down the tunnel with an injury.

Tottenham doubled their lead shortly after the break, with Dejan Kulusevski flicking in a deflected cross from Johnson, further punishing United’s fragile defence. Despite a brief rally from United’s depleted side midway through the second half, they could not capitalise on their opportunities. Instead, Spurs sealed the win when Dominic Solanke turned in from close range following a well-executed corner involving substitutes Lucas Bergvall and Pape Sarr.

For Tottenham, it was a day to remember as they continue to impress under Postecoglou. Meanwhile, the result heaps further pressure on Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, whose side is now in urgent need of a turnaround after another dismal performance.
