Dr Jumoke Oduwole Commends NGX Leadership For Bolstering Nigeria’s Capital Market Growth.
The Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, MFR, has lauded the leadership of the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) for its pivotal role in fortifying Nigeria’s capital markets. Speaking at a Closing Gong Ceremony, the Minister praised the NGX for its unwavering commitment to fostering economic growth and investment opportunities.
Dr Oduwole acknowledged the contributions of the NGX Chairman, CEO, Board of Directors, and key industry stakeholders, including the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) and the Association of Securities Dealing Houses of Nigeria (ASHON). She commended their dedication to creating robust and transparent markets, which have been instrumental in driving Nigeria’s financial ecosystem forward.
The Minister reaffirmed the Federal Government’s resolve, under President Bola Tinubu, to deepen Nigeria’s capital market. She highlighted strategic initiatives aimed at expanding access to capital for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), promoting digital trade, and boosting exports under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). These efforts, she noted, are focused on driving green and climate-aligned financing, mobilising diaspora investments, and strengthening pathways for private-sector investors.
“We are working diligently to ensure every naira and dollar invested in Nigeria is not only protected but positioned for sustained growth,” Dr Oduwole stated. “By aligning investments with our national priorities, we will unlock the full potential of Nigerian enterprise, attract further investment, and deliver prosperity to millions.”
The Minister’s visit underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to fostering a collaborative environment where public-private partnerships can thrive. She emphasised that Nigeria’s capital market will continue to serve as a catalyst for economic development and inclusive growth.
The event, hosted by the NGX, highlighted the exchange’s ongoing efforts to support Nigeria’s economic agenda, aligning with the Presidential Office of Digital Engagement & Strategy.
