American rapper Cardi B, born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, is recovering in hospital after experiencing a medical emergency. The 32-year-old artist, who recently welcomed her third child with her ex-husband Offset, revealed that she has spent several days under medical care.
In a statement shared on her social media pages, Cardi B expressed regret over cancelling her scheduled performance at the upcoming One Music Fest. Although she did not specify the nature of her ailment, the rapper reassured fans that she intends to return “better and stronger.”
“I am so sad to share this news, but I’ve been in the hospital recovering from a medical emergency the last couple of days and I won’t be able to perform at One Music Fest,” Cardi B wrote. “It breaks my heart that I won’t get to see my fans this weekend, and I really wish I could be there. Bardi Gang—thank you for understanding and I’ll be back better and stronger soon. Don’t worry. Love y’all.”
Cardi B’s hospitalisation follows her recent announcement that she’s giving up alcohol, having reflected on her experience after her 32nd birthday celebration in New York.
