CAF Sets Date For Presidential Elections In 2025, Nominations Open.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced that the next presidential elections will be held on 12 March 2025 in Cairo, Egypt. The much-anticipated event is set to shape the future of football on the continent.

CAF has also confirmed that nominations for candidates are now open, with prospective members able to collect nomination forms. The deadline for the submission of forms has been set for 12 November 2024, providing ample time for candidates to prepare their bids.

There is growing discussion within African football circles regarding the potential continuation of current CAF President, Dr Patrice Motsepe. Many stakeholders are voicing their support for the South African businessman and philanthropist, suggesting that he deserves another term at the helm of the organisation.

Dr Motsepe, who has been serving as CAF President since March 2021, has overseen several key initiatives aimed at boosting the development of African football. As the election date approaches, there will be further debate on whether his leadership should be extended.

As nominations begin, the African football community eagerly anticipates who will step forward to shape the future of the sport across the continent. All eyes will be on Cairo in March 2025, where the next chapter of CAF’s leadership will be written.
