Bayern Munich have signed goalkeeper Yann Sommer from Borussia Monchengladbach as a replacement for injured goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, the German champions confirmed on Thursday. The Yobe State council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has advised eligible voters in the state to collect their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, for the forthcoming general elections. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, said it had registered 1.3 million eligible voters in the state. However, it said as of December 2022, over 78,000 eligible voters are yet to collect their PVCs. The figure represented an appreciation by 0.05 per cent compared with the 461.50 it exchanged on Tuesday. The open indicative rate closed at N461 to the dollar on Wednesday. An exchange rate of N462 to the dollar was the highest rate recorded within the day’s trading before it settled at N461.25. The naira sold for as low as 440 to the dollar within the day’s trading. Tragedy struck on Wednesday evening, when a storey building at number 12 Aromire Avenue, opposite Dominos Pizza, Ikeja, suddenly collapsed killing one yet-to-be-identified person.
