The Ogun State Police Command has announced the successful recovery of Oladapo Seyifunmi, one of the individuals abducted from the Celestial Church of Christ, Oriyarin Parish in Mowe, Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area.
The spokesperson for the state police command, Omolola Odutola, confirmed this development via a post on her verified Facebook page.
Seyifunmi, along with Oluboboye Abiola, was reportedly taken captive during a raid on the church premises by unidentified gunmen on Thursday. The assailants made their escape through a dense forest area located behind the church.
However, in a commendable display of coordinated effort, law enforcement agencies, including the police, hunters, Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), and Amotekun, tirelessly combed through the forest, leading to the successful rescue of Seyifunmi.
Spokesperson Odutola expressed satisfaction with the outcome, stating, “We are pleased to inform members of the public that one Oladapo Oluwaseyifunmi, Shepherd of the Celestial Church kidnapped, has been rescued through the relentless combing of the forest by policemen, hunters, VGN, Amotekun. He has been reunited with his family.”
