2Baba And Hon. Natasha Osawaru Celebrate Traditional Wedding In Private Ceremony.
Legendary Nigerian musician Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba or 2Face, has married Edo State lawmaker Hon. Natasha Irobosa Osawaru in a private traditional wedding ceremony. The event, held on Tuesday, 29th July 2025, in Abuja, has captured widespread attention after videos and photos surfaced online, sparking a wave of reactions across social media platforms.
The low-key ceremony, attended by close family members, featured the couple in traditional attire, posing with a wedding cake adorned with cultural motifs. Natasha, a serving member of the Edo State House of Assembly representing Egor Constituency, was seen embracing Idoma customs, including covering her head with a scarf and wrapping her waist with traditional cloth, in a nod to 2Baba’s heritage from Benue State. The event followed 2Baba’s formal introduction of Natasha to the paramount ruler of the Idoma Kingdom on 21st April 2025, during the Idoma Security and Unity Symposium in Otukpo.
The marriage marks a new chapter for 2Baba, who announced his separation from actress Annie Macaulay Idibia in January 2025, ending a union that began in 2010 and produced two daughters. Shortly after, 2Baba publicly confirmed his relationship with Natasha, expressing his intent to marry her and defending her against accusations of being a “home breaker.” In a heartfelt statement, he described Natasha as a “young, brilliant, and amazing woman,” emphasising her innocence in his marital challenges. The couple’s engagement in February 2025, followed by Natasha’s adoption of the Idibia surname in April, set the stage for their union.
Natasha, born on 14th November 1994, is a prominent figure in Edo State politics, serving as Deputy Majority Leader under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). A law graduate from Igbinedion University with a Master’s degree in Fashion/Apparel Design from Parsons School of Design, New York, she has championed youth and women’s development. Her high-profile romance with 2Baba, including a viral video of the singer presenting her with an Audemars Piguet wristwatch, has kept the couple in the spotlight.
The wedding has elicited mixed reactions online. While some fans celebrated the couple’s joy, others expressed sympathy for Annie Idibia, citing her long-standing support for 2Baba. Social media posts reflected the divide, with one user lamenting, “After all Annie stood by you through thick and thin, this is how you repay her?” while another congratulated the couple, saying, “I’m happy for him. He might be a good husband to Natasha.” The viral clips, including moments of 2Baba spraying cash on traditional Idoma dancers, have further fuelled discussions.
The ceremony’s cultural significance was highlighted by 2Baba’s adherence to Idoma traditions, including his visit to Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, on 23rd April 2025, where he introduced Natasha and was appointed Technical Advisor on Entertainment. The couple’s decision to keep the event private underscores their desire for intimacy amid public scrutiny.
As 2Baba and Natasha embark on their journey together, their union represents a blend of music, politics, and cultural heritage. The marriage, celebrated with quiet elegance, has solidified their bond while inspiring conversations about love, loyalty, and new beginnings in Nigeria’s vibrant social landscape.
